Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

A sweet and creamy ice cream infused with real vanilla. Lovely on its own, or as the base for an amazing sundae.


  • Milk icon
    Milk400 g
  • Heavy cream icon
    Heavy cream400 g
  • Vanilla seeds & pod icon
    Vanilla seeds & pod1prepared
  • Salt icon
    Salt1 pinch
  • Egg yolk icon
    Egg yolk4separated
  • White sugar icon
    White sugar120 g

  • 1. Add milk, heavy cream, vanilla seeds & pod and salt to a clean saucepan
  • 2. Heat
  • 3. Remove and set aside - 30 min
  • 4. Add egg yolk and white sugar to a clean medium bowl
  • 5. Whisk well until thick
  • 6. Strain one third of mixture into eggs
  • 7. Mix in the rest of mixture to eggs
  • 8. Transfer eggs to saucepan
  • 9. Heat gently until thick
  • 10. Transfer mixture to medium bowl
  • 11. Let cool completely
  • 12. Transfer in ice cream maker
  • 13. Churn in ice cream maker
