Savory Buckwheat Crêpes

Known as the Breton Galette, this buckwheat crêpe is the dessert crêpe's lesser-known cousin. Fill with various savory ingredients; ham and cheese are always a solid choice!

  • 1. Add unsalted butter to a clean small glass bowl
  • 2. Heat until melted then set aside - low heat
  • 3. Add all purpose flour, buckwheat flour, salt and granulated sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 4. Combine the dry ingredients together
  • 5. Incorporate the eggs
  • 6. Add melted butter and milk, whisk until combined
  • 7. Strain any lumps to get a smooth batter
  • 8. Chill in fridge - approx 30 min
  • 9. Fry - approx 3 min
  • 10. Flip - approx 1 min
