Walnut Cream Cheese Sablé

With pre-roasted walnuts on the inside and out, these crumbly sablés have an extra nutty crunch.

  • 1. Pre-heat oven - 175°C / 350°F
  • 2. Line 2 clean baking sheets with parchment paper
  • 3. Add unsalted butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar and vanilla extract to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 4. Mix until creamy
  • 5. Mix in salt and all purpose flour in a clean medium bowl, then add to the batter
  • 6. Add chopped walnuts and mix dough until well combined
  • 7. Turn out on lightly-floured surface, form into a 2" roll then flatten slightly to form sides
  • 8. Roll in walnuts
  • 9. Chill in freezer until firm - 15 min
  • 10. Cut carefully
  • 11. Transfer dough to 2 baking sheets
  • 12. Bake until golden brown - 18 min, 175°C / 350°F
  • 13. Transfer onto cooling rack and let cool
