These spicy, crispy onion bhajis are delicious on their own or with a minty yogurt sauce.

    Method

  • 1. Add red onion to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 2. Sprinkle with salt evenly
  • 3. Set aside - approx 5 min
  • 4. Add garlic clove, fresh chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, ground turmeric and ground coriander to the large mixing bowl
  • 5. Mix briefly
  • 6. Add gram flour, rice flour and cornflour to the large mixing bowl
  • 7. Mix briefly
  • 8. Add water to the large mixing bowl
  • 9. Set aside - approx 5 min
  • 10. Mix thoroughly
  • 11. Add sunflower oil to the saucepan and heat over medium heat
  • 12. Fry until crispy then set aside
  • 13. Serve
