We sprinkle these golden-brown breadsticks with caraway, sesame or poppy seeds. Try adding a little parmesan on top before baking. (Vegan)

  • Quick-rise yeast icon

    Method

  • 1. Add quick-rise yeast, salt and plain flour to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 2. Whisk until combined
  • 3. Add water and beat vigorously - approx 1 min
  • 4. Add olive oil and stir until combined
  • 5. Add all purpose flour and stir carefully until dough forms
  • 6. Turn out on lightly-floured surface
  • 7. Knead until elastic - 8 min
  • 8. Cover loosely with kitchen towel
  • 9. Let rest - 10 min
  • 10. Pre-heat oven - 190°C
  • 11. Grease the clean baking sheets lightly with olive oil
  • 12. Divide dough evenly and shape into thin sticks
  • 13. Transfer dough to 2 baking sheets
  • 14. Sprinkle with poppy seeds
  • 15. Bake until golden brown - 20 min, 190°C
  • 16. Transfer onto cooling rack
