Light, fluffy buttermilk biscuits. Serve them warm from the oven!

    Method

  • 1. Pre-heat oven - 221°C
  • 2. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
  • 3. Add plain flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 4. Mix until combined
  • 5. Add unsalted butter to the dough
  • 6. Cut in with pastry blender until coarse crumbs form
  • 7. Add buttermilk to the dough
  • 8. Mix briefly until dough forms
  • 9. Turn out on lightly-floured surface
  • 10. Dust with plain flour
  • 11. Flatten until 1" thick
  • 12. Cut out
  • 13. Transfer dough to baking sheet
  • 14. Bake until light golden - 12 min, 221°C
