  • All purpose flour icon

  • Salt icon
    Salt1 ½ tablespoons
  • Baking powder icon
    Baking powder1 tablespoon
  • Shortening icon
    Shortening9 tablespoons
  • Water icon
    Water450 gwarm

  • 1. Add all purpose flour, salt and baking powder to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 2. Whisk together
  • 3. Add shortening to the dough
  • 4. Rub in until coarse crumbs form
  • 5. Mix in water to the dough
  • 6. Knead until smooth on a lightly floured surface or in a mixer
  • 7. Divide into a ball
  • 8. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  • 9. Cook them one at a time on a hot skillet when it starts to bubble a bit, flip over
  • 10. Keep warm with kitchen towel
