This delicate flaky pastry makes the perfect base for quiches or meat and vegetable pies. Can be used fresh or frozen for another time.

    Method

  • 1. Add all purpose flour, salt and unsalted butter to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 2. Rub in until coarse crumbs form
  • 3. Add egg and water to the pastry
  • 4. Mix gently until mixture comes together
  • 5. Wrap with plastic wrap
  • 6. Chill in fridge - approx 1 hr
